Nutella Banana Muffins

October 18, 2012 By Francois 1 Comment

My love affair with Nutella goes way back and we are still very much in love with each other. Growing up, my favorite thing to do was to stick a big spoon in the jar and walk around with my makeshift lollypop. To this day, I’ll have that stuff on bread, crepes… I’ll even drizzle it on ice cream. But my favorite combo by far is Nutella and bananas. These two were made for each other. So, in homage to one of the most perfect food combinations ever , I give you…Nutella Banana Muffins!

Here is how to make them:

Nutella Banana Muffins

Ingredients
  • ⅔ cup Nutella
  • ⅔ cup Chocolate chips
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 6 tbsp honey
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 3 bananas
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. In a heatproof bowl placed over a saucepan of simmering water, melt together Nutella and chocolate chips. Once melted, set aside. In a small bowl, mash 3 bananas with the back of a fork. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, mix 3 eggs, sugar and honey. Add flour and baking soda and mix to combine. Add milk and mix again. Add mashed bananas and mix again. Add half of the chocolate mixture...and mix again =).
  3. Pour batter into greased muffin tins. Top with the rest of the chocolate mixture. Bake for 20 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 350°F. In a heatproof bowl set over simmering water, melt together 2/3 cup of chocolate with 2/3 cup of Nutella:

Once melted, turn the burner off and get started on the rest of the batter.

In a large bowl, mix together 3 eggs, 1/2 cup of sugar and 6 tbsp of honey:

Add 2 cups of flour and 1 tbsp of baking powder. Mix to combine:

Add 1/4 cup of milk:

In a small bowl, mash 3 bananas with the back of a fork:

Add the banana puree to the batter:

Add half of the melted chocolate mixture and stir to combine:

Pour the batter in a greased muffin tin. In my case, I used some paper liners I’d been dying to try.

Fill 2/3 of the way up. They rise quite a bit:

Top with the rest of the chocolate mixture:

Bake for 20 minutes.

Enjoy!!!

Hi! I’ve just come across your blog and I LOVE it!
Please, please start blogging more =D

I’m a huge nutella fan too, but nutella & strawberry does it for me. I also made Nutella & Pistachio Macarons which turned out pretty awesome.
