Voodoo Doll Cookies

Halloween is next week! I still haven’t found a costume but that doesn’t stop me from baking Halloween treats. Today’s sweet is a fun take on spooky voodoo dolls. Here is how to make them:

First let’s make cookies. I am using my Basic Sugar Cookie recipe and a gingerbread man cookie cutter:

Now let’s bring our dolls to life with royal icing. Here is a link to Royal Icing 101. First the eyes:

 For the heart I found these cute heart sugar decos:

Add a dab of icing:

And add the heart:

Next let’s pipe some thread:

For the other details, I am using one of my favorite tools: food coloring pens:

Food Coloring Pens are easy to find, inexpensive and fun to use. Just draw!:

 Add some pins and you’re done!
